Graduated from AgroParisTech (Paris Institute of Technology for Life, Food and Environmental Sciences), Axel followed an educational curriculum revolving around process engineering and industrial biotechnologies. He pursued with a Ph.D. aiming, on the one hand, to develop a lignocellulosic biomass hydrolysate purification process using nanofiltration, and, on the other hand, to gain a better understanding of inhibition mechanisms of different identified compounds, on a model bacteria. During his Ph.D. he got passionate about computer sciences and data science, skills he wanted to develop, that’s why, after his Ph.D. he worked as a modeling engineer in a startup developing software for different actors of the agricultural sector and food industry. He presently wants to get back in the biotechnologies research field, that is why he joined the Biomass Technology Laboratory where he is part of a biogas production project.
