Javier Ricardo is a Chemical Engineer with a Master degree in Biotechnology. His PhD degree in Biotechnology was focused on biopolymer production using isolated bacterial strain from agro-industrial waste.
His vast work experience encompasses chemical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry and bioprocess, with a special focus on biotechnology. He worked in laboratories in three different countries (Colombia, Spain and Germany). During this time, he developed and been involved in several scientific projects in cooperation with laboratories around the world. Those projects were in biochemistry, bioinformatics and metabolic engineering and taught me to effectively interact with different research groups, and that provided me the ability detail-oriented focus on several tasks at the same time. Before starting his PhD, he worked as a chemical engineer, where he refined his skills in quality control and reinforced his bias for the laboratory. He also published some scientific articles and he have been advisor in some academic projects.
Javier will work on the recovery of agrifood waste for the production of food grade bioethanol in the context of the circular economy.
