Thomas is from Sherbrooke, where he has completed a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering (2018) and a master’s degree in electrical engineering (2022). Throughout his academic and professional career, he has developed a keen interest for embedded systems, specifically in the field of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Passionate about electronics at a very young age, his goal is to build a skill set that covers everything related to IIoT, from electronics design to data analysis leading to decision-making, as well as software architecture and artificial intelligence. He joined the BTL in January 2022 in collaboration with IntRoLab to study the application of IIoT technologies to an industrial maple syrup production line to detect and prevent flavor defects as well as classify maple syrup.
