Macarena Miranda is from Chile and is a senior student of the Industrial Engineering program in “Universidad del Desarrollo”. She also has a background in Environmental Health and Safety Engineering (professional degree) from University of Technology INACAP, with two years of work experience in this field as an advisor in a Construction Company. She held a position as a research assistant at Sustainability Research Center (Cisger) from 2016 – 2019 at the Universidad del Desarrollo, Chile. Her work over the years in different projects in Cisger is related to design new approaches and tools to understand the sustainable issues, data analytics applied to social complexities and developing new models of Life Cycle Assessment in mining operations. Presently, with her passion for science and in an endeavor to expanding borders going beyond Chile, she is looking forward to contributing to the renewable energy field as an intern in the Biomass Technology Laboratory, Canada.
