Sylvie Stefany de Lira Cortegaça, 25 years old, is a chemical engineer graduated from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte and currently a PhD student at the BTL of the University of Sherbrooke.
During her undergraduate studies, she stood out for her strong involvement in both academic and practical activities. She participated in extension projects, including a tutoring program, where she served as a tutor in Chemical Thermodynamics and Computational Introduction. She also joined the junior enterprise Nuteq as a commercial manager, contributing to projects such as the development of a beverage.
In research, she worked on the synthesis and characterization of nanostructured carbides derived from columbite using a rotary tubular reactor. She later conducted studies on biodiesel production from waste cooking oil, using calcium oxide obtained from eggshells as a catalyst in the methylic transesterification reaction.
As part of her practical training, she completed an internship at the chemical laboratory of Vicunha Têxtil, working with quality control and textile colorimetry. More recently, she interned the Biomass Technology Laboratory at Université de Sherbrooke, focusing on CO₂ adsorption processes.
Throughout her trajectory, Sylvie has demonstrated proactivity, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively handle technical and operational challenges.
