Wendell Lopes, originally from Brazil, has a bachelor, a master as well as a PhD in chemical engineering. During his undergrad and master work, he work in systems for treatment on natural gas where he got his first patent. His PhD was done in a joined program between France and Brazil where the aim was to treat and use mineral wastes. He has more than 10 years of experience as a university professor and chemical engineer. His work at the BTL will aim at developing a new gasification system that will allow conversion of industrial sources of waste carbon.
