Postdoctoral fellow

Ignacio is a Chemical and Process engineer graduated from the ITESM-mty (Mexico), with a master’s in Energy Engineering, and a Ph.D. on Catalysis and Thermochemical Processes for biofuel production (UdS). Professionally, he has dedicated his work on R&D of biofuels in collaboration with start-up companies and academia. In May 2021, he joined the team of Pre. Bruna Rego de Vasconcelos at the LTB for the development of methodologies to determine the carbon footprint and life cycle cost of Power-to-X Technologies (PtX) to produce fuels with low carbon intensity. PtX are expected to play an important role in the decarbonization of the energy sector. Notably, Quebec power infrastructure has great potential of PtX deployment in the near future.
