Kimberle is a chemical engineer graduated from the Federal University of Ceara (UFC), Brazil, since 2015. She holds a master’s degree (2018) and a PhD (2022) in Chemical Engineering. Her research experience began in 2010, working on the immobilization of lipase enzymes for the production of biodiesel and flavors during her bachelor’s degree. In her master’s degree, she researched the immobilization of proteases on different insoluble supports (natural and synthetic) aiming at an application in hydrolysis reactions for the production of bioactive peptides. During her PhD, she worked on the co-immobilization of peroxidase and lipase using a layer-by-layer strategy, studying the diffusional effects of the produced multifunctional catalyst, as well as its stability and functionality. Kimberle joined the BTL for a postdoc now in the area of chemical catalyst scaling.
