Kenza Chaibi, 24 years old, is a PhD student in Chemical Engineering at the University of Sherbrooke. She is a graduate of the National Polytechnic School of Algiers (Algeria), where she earned both an Engineering degree and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. She later continued her academic training in France and obtained a Master’s degree (M2) in Chemical Engineering from Sorbonne University (Paris, France).
During her final year of master’s studies, she completed a five-month research internship at the University of Sherbrooke, focusing on the upgrading of biomass-derived pyrolytic oils. Her research focuses on renewable fuels, with particular emphasis on the hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of pyrolytic oils derived from biomass pyrolysis for the production of sustainable biofuels. Her research interests also include heterogeneous catalysis, thermochemical biomass conversion, and the development of drop-in transportation fuels.
