
Sylvie Stefany de Lira Cortegaça is 24 years old and from Brazil. She is currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). During her studies, she participated in projects focused on the synthesis and characterization of nanostructured carbides derived from columbite, using a rotary tubular reactor. More recently, she worked on the production of biodiesel from waste cooking oil, utilizing calcium oxide obtained from eggshells as a catalyst in the methylic transesterification reaction.
She also completed an internship at the chemical laboratory of Vicunha Têxtil, where she studied improvements for the color change process of Pad-Batch machines and assisted in training laboratory technicians in basic chemistry and pilot plant processes.
Sylvie is recognized for her teamwork skills, her ability to communicate effectively across different areas, and the leadership qualities she has developed throughout her academic and professional experiences. She is motivated to take on responsibilities, find practical solutions, and foster collaboration to overcome daily challenges.
