Ruth Mesquita Ferreira is a PhD student in Biotechnology and a Research Intern. With a background in physics and a master’s degree in Applied Physical Sciences, her professional and academic journey has been dedicated to studying energy solutions. As a PhD student in the RENORBIO program and a research intern at the Biomass Technology Laboratory (BTL), her work focuses on the thermochemical conversion of biomass.
Since her master’s, her research has explored pyrolysis as a pathway for producing biofuels and value-added products from organic waste. At the BTL, she applies her technical knowledge to optimize processes and contribute to the development of energy technologies, aiming for a low-carbon and more environmentally friendly.
