Chemist by training, Maxime Lessard a joined the BTL team in 2016 in the context of a satellite project in partnership with the canadian ethanol producer Greenfield Global. During this project, he developed a continuous biodiesel synthesis approach while setting up analytical techniques used to characterize oils and fats. Supported by the same partnership, he pursued his graduate studies during which he focused on developing a pathway to valorize fusel oils: a by-product of the fermentation process. Thanks to his works, he received two excellence grants, a demand for non-divulgation of his results for a patent, and additional experience in catalytic chemistry. Maxime Lessard is now working full time on developing analytical applications and on the certification of the BTL analytical chemistry laboratory, while pursuing a training in project management and financial analysis.
