
Macarena Miranda Yanez is a Postdoctoral Fellow whose work brings together sustainable process engineering, bioresource valorization, and industrial innovation. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke, where she developed process technologies for the valorization of downgraded maple syrups, one of which was tested at pilot scale. Her current research focuses on life cycle assessment and techno-economic evaluation of renewable energy systems within the GENESIS project, contributing to the development of sustainable solutions for northern communities. Alongside her academic work, she is Director of an engineering firm in Chile and Senior Consultant in Chile and Canada, leading projects in sustainability strategy, resource efficiency, and clean technology implementation. Her career reflects a strong commitment to connecting scientific research with practical applications, promoting innovation, operational excellence, and environmental responsibility across sectors.
