Rafael is graduated in Forestry Engineering and has a master’s degree with emphasis on Forest Products Technology at Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ), Brazil. He have done a one year of exchange in Canada to acquire expertise in Wood Science and Technology with a focus on kraft lignin for the synthesis of adhesives for wood boards. The research theme being the use of eucalyptus kraft lignin for synthesis of adhesives for application on wood panels. Worked in research lines for urea formaldehyde and phenol formaldehyde adhesives, wood quality. Experience in projects for continuous improvement and economic feasibility, and people and process management. His thesis project at the BTL: Use solid residues to produce solid biofuels as energy resource.
